Upcoming

This class is an introduction to color. It will illustrate how just a few primary colors can create any desired color. Attendees will learn the fundamentals of color through a warm-up, completion of an expressive acrylic painting & completion of a color-inspired craft.

Objectives: learn the basics of color & color mixing. Color & painting/crafting as a means of relaxation & form of expression.

Acrylic paint, brushes, canvases & craft supplies will be provided.

Twice Inspired encompasses art/craft classes taught by artist Lisa Gaither & crafter Molly Gaither. The classes are sponsored by Jerry's Artarama. Twice Inspired classes are S.T.A.R.T. certified & focus on giving time/space/materials to artists/crafters (young & old, expert & novice) interested in expressing themselves creatively.

What to expect at a Twice Inspired class: Learn art basics (composition, technique, etc) from artist Lisa Gaither. Lisa will guide you as you create your own work of art to take home. Learn the joys of crafting from crafter Molly Gaither. Molly will guide you as you create a stylish & cool craft to take home.

About Lisa

Lisa Gaither is the founder of The Art Department, a firm specializing in artwork & murals/finishes in commercial & residential properties.

She was born in Greensboro, NC, & attended art school nearby in the early 1980s. Following a stint in the graphic design & printing industries, Lisa launched The Art Department in 1996. Her work is featured in businesses, hotels, residences, restaurants, shopping centers, etc, all along the east coast.

As a fine artist of many years, Lisa's role at Twice Inspired is to teach students based on her experiences. Her extensive knowledge of art-making will give students valuable tools for projects in the classroom, & beyond.

About Molly

Molly Gaither is the writer behind The Girl's Girl, a Web site devoted to art, craft, design & fashion.

She was born in Greensboro, NC, & attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she studied art history & journalism. She is an art lover & loves making/admiring crafts. She has also worked & volunteered at local design firms, art galleries & art museums. Her admired crafty contemporaries include everyone from Martha Stewart to Erica Domesek.

As a lifelong crafter, Molly's role at Twice Inspired is to teach students based on her experiences. Her extensive knowledge of crafting will give students valuable tools for projects in the classroom, & beyond.
